Help! I know you guys out there are smart people, and I'm not so computer literate, so I need help. As you can see we are stuck on this Halloween layout because every time we change our layout, it deletes all of our friend list, is there anyway to not delete that while redoing our background?

There are lot's of ways to change your background that will leave your friends list on your blog (yea, I found out the hard way too). I'm not sure if you want to create your own design or not. If you don't, there's always www.thecutestblogontheblock.com. It has tons of cute layouts for free and it's really easy to do. Your friends list won't be taken off using them. Then again, you might be pasting the code in the wrong place. Sorry, I'm not much help. Check out the website though.
Go to cutestblogontheblock.com and click on backgrounds (on the left hand side somewhere) that will only change your background and not your layout. There are directions on there to tell you how to do it. You have to go to your layout option on your blog customize link and set your layout to a specific generic bacground first. Once you do that go back to the cutestblogontheblock and copy the HTML code for the background that you want. Then go back to your blog layout customization page and add an element. The element that you want is the Html code one. Add it, paste the code from cutest blog on the block and voila. It should work. Once you do that if it works but your colors for your fonts don't match let me know and I can try to explain how to fix that one. I had to learn all of this stuff the hard way too so I'm glad to help if I can. My sister-in-law calls me all the time and asks me if blogger hotline is open. :) Good luck!
