Halloween

This year for Halloween Kyle went as Ol' McDonald and Bailey went as his little duckling. Those of you who are around Bailey may have heard her 'duck' noises so we thought this costume was very fitting. And at the Halloween Party she won best costume for the age group 0-2 years. Unfortunately I was so sick that I missed out being Ol' McDonalds Hick wife, but oh well there's always next year.

Birthday Girl!

Our lovely Bailey had her birthday on Saturday, with a party on Friday. Her party was a success, other than me losing my voice, it was fun! We had dinner (yummy!) with cake, ice cream and presents afterwards. Dinner was good, with pulled pork, crab salad, mac n cheese, chicken salad, and potato salad. everyone loved it, but there was tons of leftovers, apparently the cold is going around like candy this October! So not everyone was able to make it, so enjoy the pics!

If you didn't notice, this was a Corduroy themed party and the little bear is Corduroy. Although she did get messy she didn't have any of the cake, just the frosting! Oh well maybe next year!
Then on Saturday we took a getaway with the Ramos' to a maple syrup farm. We couldn't convince them to get the hayride going - not even for Bailey's first birthday!! So we went to a pumpkin patch/cornmaze/hayride that we saw on the way up there. It was lots of fun! Although we did get sick on the way up there with the cold going around.. Sorry Val and Dan!

The Bulldog she got from the girls I nanny.

The "corn" box that they had, a huge box full of dried corn!

Photos

I know that I haven't updated recently (as always..) but we really haven't been up to anything much. So I'll just let the pictures do the talking.

Seriously fun! Hopefully I will post next week for our little one's first birthday!

Slacking

I know I know, my last post was lame as it is, but then not posting for almost 2 months is a really long time. And I wish I had a great reason why, but I can't think of a single one. So this post is a catch up of our summer.

So this summer has gone by REALLY fast! Like its almost over in a few weeks. Oh how the time flies. Kyle has been busy working on his thesis so we haven't been able to get out much, and this month is completely dedicated to his thesis, so we can't wait for this to be DONE!

Bailey and I have been doing little things here and there. She loves that her little friend Joseph moved into our complex because now they see each other tons! And every time she sees him she just laughs and waves. She is also on the move! Which is really nice now, if I walk out of a room she can just follow me instead of screaming :). And she is eating so much REAL food. Favorites are mom's homemade bread, rolls, and bananas. But will eat anything! Which is nice since we just give her what we are eating. She has been in this independent mode recently wanting only food that she can feed herself. Which I get nervous about her throwing food everywhere, but she's pretty good! She's getting into some dresses that I'm just in love with, so of course we had to have 10 photos taken of her in each.

She is just such a joy to be around and really draws people to her whoever they are. I can't go ANYWHERE without at least 5 people stopping to talk to her and compliment her on how good natured she is.

The other day we were outside and our friends were playing with water so we hurried and got Bailey's swimming suit on and played with them. Come to find out Bailey can stand if she's playing with water in a sink thing.  This is here wiht her friend little Joseph. So cute and adorable right?

We have been pretty much just hanging out with our friends, and each other. She is my partner in crime and I love spending all day with her! She is seriously so good and something about her just makes me can't get enough of her.

Spontaneity

Recently our dear friends told us about "Name your price" from Priceline.com, so I decided to check it out. I was playing around with it and one of my bids were actually accepted in Philadelphia. So I only had a few hours to get ready, packed for all three of us. Kyle got home, and he got to guess where we were going and we took off. Of course hit rush hour traffic and I think our GPS got us lost more than it found us, but we eventually got there.

Bailey was more than excited to get out of the hotel and go see the city! We got to stay at the Radisson which was pretty nice, minus the no parking.
We got to see the liberty bell which was nice, except when we got there, it was broken....lame i know.
Then we toured Independence Hall which was fun to see where our country started.
Bailey was just relaxing being pushed around the city! On our way to Reading Terminal Station where we got really yummy gyros! (And of course we had to go there, it was in the National Treasure Movie :))
Finally tuckered out, we headed back to the Hotel where we can all take naps. And I know, I think we have more pictures of Bailey than we do of Philly.
Then Sunday we went to Valley Forge, which was really pretty and has a cool history!
Bailey helped drive us home (not really but this picture was fun to take)

And then just yesterday we decided that we wanted to go camping. So while Kyle was at school I tried to get us ready and we took off to Devil's Hopyard by Old Lyme, CT (guess where Lyme disease comes from...)
As we showed up, we realized that the scouts from our ward was there, so that was fun, but we did sleep far enough away that we wouldn't have to wake them up at 7 am when Bailey wakes up. And I foolishly planned all of our meals with our dutch oven, but showing up, all we had was wet wood so we didn't get enough coals for dinner to be made. So we brought hot dogs luckily, and managed to eat one for dinner before filling up on s'mores. Bailey slept really well and didn't wake any of the neighbors up. Then for breakfast, we did get a good fire going to get enough coals, so we made cobbler for breakfast, I know healthy right? But what's camping without junk food? Those were our fun trips that we've loved getting to know the Northeast more and more before we happily leave.
And this was Bailey's chair while we sat by the fire,
She then found out that she can rock forward and pick some clovers. She's getting smarter and smarter.
