2012

This year has been fun, challenging, and adventurous! Kyle has been diligently working at Mercy General Hospital. The surgeons there haven't made it easy on him and he's been a trooper getting the experience he needs to get a new job at a better place. And he finally has! He accepted a job at the University of Utah Hospital in November and we are going to be moving at the end of January. He is hoping to do more hunting, camping, fishing, and snowboarding in Utah than is possible to do here in California. We are also thrilled to be near family so our kids can know their cousins more than once or twice a year.

Bailey has been busier than ever, playing, singing, dancing, and learning to talk back (uh-oh!). She is still such a sweetie and says the funniest things! She thinks she is pretty grown up. She started potty training at the beginning of February and we are still waiting for that. We have successes here and there but she will come around soon. We got season passes to Six Flags here and she loves going there. They have dolphin and whale shows and she can go on and on about those and how much she loves them. I started to teach her preschool this fall and she loves her 'school'. We've had fun and hopefully will get back into it in February when things aren't so crazy. Most of all loves her baby sister. There isn't a day that goes by that she isn't begging to hold her, smother her, or kiss her. She has adjusted well and we are so excited!

Hattie is the best baby ever! As long as I don't eat chocolate, she is so calm and relaxed. She only wakes up twice a night and I am so grateful for that! She is starting to coo and babble a little bit and I love hearing babies voices for the first time. I love all her hair and can't wait to put clips in it in the next few months. She loves Bailey and Bailey entertains her for hours. She just likes to watch Bailey so I occasionally lay Hattie close to where Bailey is playing so she can watch her and it's pretty cute!

This has been a great year for us and hope it was for all of you too. Happy New Year!

Hattie's Blessing

Today we blessed baby Hattie! We were going to wait until the first of January but Kyle's parents were in town so we decided to do it today. Good thing she's a big baby so that her blessing dress didn't drown her :)
And of course we had to do a photo shoot because she is so stinkin cute!

 Our pretty baby!

Hattie Rae Gubler

We have a new addition to our family! Hattie joined us Nov 21 at about 9 am. She is seriously a perfect fit to our family and a pretty good baby!

The Before/After pictures

On Tuesday I woke up to some pretty bad contractions and a small water break. I waited about 10 hours for the contractions to get regular, and then called Kyle. We got to the hospital about 3 pm and I was only about a 1-2 but since it was a trial of labor after c-section (tolac) they wanted to keep me and monitor me. Anyways once I got there the contractions started to become irregular again. Anyways after a while Hattie was having trouble getting enough oxygen due to how I was laying so they put me on oxygen and kept turning me. After about 12 hours at the hospital, and an epidural (thank heavens for anesthesiologists right?) The baby wasn't descending and my contractions weren't strong enough to get her to come down or for me to fully dilate. So they started to talk about a c-section again. After TONS of praying we felt like a c-section would be best, and of course the Lord was looking out for us! Just before 9am Hattie was born, 9lbs 3oz! Her head was turned sideways so she was having a hard time descending. And who knows if I could push out that big of baby! Although it wasn't the birth I wanted, I still got what I wanted out of it - a beautiful baby girl and we are both healthy and doing fine.

Of course Bailey is thrilled to have her. She loves to hold her and cries every time she leaves the hospital. It has been a huge blessing that my mom flew in on Monday morning to help when we have her. Hopefully we'll be discharged Friday or Saturday so that we can go home and eat all the food we bought for Thanksgiving!

The Pumpkin Train

Yesterday we had so much fun on the Sacramento River Train. They had a livingsocial deal so we thought why not? It was this fun train that took us to a pumpkin patch where we got a pumpkin and then back again. But on the train were fun things. There were a few scarecrows that would do face painting, read stories, and entertain the kids. We also got a free cookie and juice. Bailey loved every second of it.

Bailey met a friend on the train. On the way there we sat in the open car.

Bailey enjoying the tractor pulled hayride.
Coming through the hay bail maze.

Posing for a photo.
Bailey headed out to find a pumpkin.

Found one, but it ended up being too heavy for her to carry, so she wanted a different one.
 Enjoying the corn maze!
 Running to get daddy!
 Bailey's "scary" face.
It's all fun til someone gets lost and we have to get back to the train before we miss it!
The final pumpkin that is light enough for her to carry.

We also went to Kyle's cousin's trunk or treat last night. Bailey is a pumpkin, so we thought we would baby the baby a pumpkin too!
And you can't have a cute pumpkin without a Charlie Brown daddy!

Bailey's Birthday Party

Bailey is turning 3 next week! We had a few friends over to play, make pizza, and eat cake and ice cream.

Everyone made their own pizza and it was fun!

Bailey and Mason took turns licking the cake, I would mind but it was so cute!

Bailey loved her cake. I kept asking her what she wanted for her birthday and she just told me an elephant cake. What an easy girl!

Davis Ranch Festival

So last year one of the first things we did here was this family ranch festival. They had horseback riding and Bailey loved it! We decided to go again this year because she liked it so much. This year she got to ride all by herself.

She was so excited to be a cowgirl!
They also had this hay maze that the little kids could do.

And they also had some tractor rides that took us around the farm so we could see the Christmas trees an Pumpkin patches they have.

Baby News!

Yay! We are having another baby! We are so excited and thrilled! Bailey is pretty excited too, hopefully that doesn't change. She is getting very maternal recently with her stuffed animals and she is their mommy. Anyways we had an ultrasound a few weeks ago and 'most likely' this baby is another girl! The csection is scheduled for November 21st, but we are hoping I go into labor before that and have this baby normally! And so I won't be in the hospital during Thanksgiving.

As for recently we have been busy. In the last month I've been to Utah 3 times! Needless to say we are tired of driving through Nevada. But you can't beat spending time with family! Its always nice to see them. And this last trip we even got to catch up with or dear friends the Taylors from our New Haven days.

Bailey is STILL potty training. We've got #1 down pretty good but she blatantly refuses to go #2 in the potty. It will come right? lol I figured if I can make it 5 months I could be patient for another couple. We are hoping she gets it down by the time the baby comes. But on a happier note, Bailey is in gymnastics! She loves it and Kyle gets to come for the first time on Tuesday. She loves the trampoline, doing somersaults, and seeing all her friends that she has made there. But other than that we've been trying to stay out of the heat recently. I'm in a water aerobics class at the gym which is nice because the pool is outside so it feels good. And on the really hot afternoons I take Bailey there and we go for a swim. Mainly because I'm too cheap to pay for a mommy and me swim class, so I take her dunk her a few times and practice her kicking in the water.

Bailey has grown up so much! She loves Curious George and really relates with his movies. She's understanding feelings like sad, happy, hungry and so on. I think she has matured enough recently to understand a lot more, which has made potty training a lot easier. She likes eating, especially vegetables. And loves her friends from gymnastics, story time, and nursery. And I think there is a light at the end of the tunnel for the terrible twos! She has stopped talking back and being sassy so much, and actually listens and when I ask her to do something she does it! She stopped hitting littler kids at the gym and understands why that is bad. I'm enjoying her more and more. Especially all the kisses she gives me and the loves that she loves to give out. Anyways that's our update for what we've been up to recently.

San Francisco

So Kyle had a Friday off and we decided to head to the city for the sights. Come to find out everything in San Francisco is super expensive! So we mainly drove around and checked out the wharf.
 Looking out at Alcatraz.
These next few photos are of us driving down Lombard street. You can't really see how cool and zig zaggy it is from the photos but oh well.

I had to take a picture of a cable car passing us. Don't mind the Scentsy air freshener in the way.

This house is supposedly the house from Full House. It looks different to me, but then again so do Mary Kate and Ashley...
 The Golden Gate Bridge.

Yes I got fried! We forgot sunscreen, but Bailey seems to not need it. Lucky little girl didn't get burned or tan at all.

Kyle's Surf n Turf. He's always wanted a lobster dinner so we decided to splurge.
 Overlooking the wharf.
The two story carousel on Pier 39. Bailey loves carousels.
The bridge at night from a distance.
Headed home back over the bridge. We had a fun day!
